I love pre-school!

I would say this sums up how Evan feels about having his picture taken. This is his Spring pre-school picture. I have a funny story to go with this picture. At the soccer game this past week, Evan was playing with some other kids his age and then came and sat down next to Bryson to watch the game. Shortly after he sat down, a little boy came up to him and said, "Evan you need to apoligize to me for pushing me." And Evan crossed his arms and said, "No. I'm watching the game!"

Treehouse Cottages

A couple of weeks ago, we snuck off to Eureka Springs for Valentine's day. We stayed in the Tree house Cottages. We absolutely LOVED it! I have wanted to stay here for several years. But every time, we have looked into making a reservation, they were already booked! So we planned ahead and booked this cottage back in October. It did not disappoint!!

This was the view from our cottage from the front door. Isn't it beautiful?? And this is in the dead of winter! I can't imagine how pretty it is in the Fall. I hope we can come back and celebrate our anniversary here.

This is us in front of the fireplace before we left for our Valentine's Dinner. We ate at a really nice restaurant in Eureka and we both had the trout. AND for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the restaurant. We also ate lunch at Local Flavor and we really enjoyed our meal there.

This is the most comfortable bed! I think I slept for 15 hours in this bed. The bedding was so cozy and I think I could just hibernate here!

And if you are like me, you love to see pictures - so below are pictures of our tree house.

If you are looking for a unique and fun getaway, I would recommend the Tree house Cottages in Eureka Springs, AR. The owners were wonderful and made several recommendations on where to eat. They have a library of current movies to choose from and they had orange juice and homemade banana nut bread waiting for us in the cottage. We will definitely be back! I think this link will take you to their website. http://www.eureka-net.com/treehouse/frame.html

Watering the Mulch??

Evan has gotten into the habit of going outside to his clubhouse before we leave for school in the mornings. Today it was 26 degrees outside and he insisted on going outside to the clubhouse for just a few minutes. SO I bundled him up and out he goes. I went to the door to tell him it was time to leave and I saw him peeing from the top of the treehouse onto the mulch below. I'm not sure if he was trying to pee on the dog or was just peeing for the pure enjoyment of watching it hit the ground from that height. Once again, I'm thankful that we live out in the country. I snapped this picture shortly after he watered the mulch.

Future Runners?

For the past couple of weeks, both Parker and Grant have decided they are going to be little runners. They have both been putting time in on the treadmill and I'm so proud of them!! They are so excited when they come upstairs and report how far they went. I hope that they will want to run some 5K's with Bryson and me this Spring.

Breakfast in Bed

While the boys were on Christmas Break, I promised them that I would fix them breakfast in bed. SO the very last day (yes, I am a procrastinator) of break, I set the alarm and got up to fix Waffles, French Toast and bacon. I know - French Toast and Waffles do not really go together. But I have one that likes French Toast and two that like Waffles.

The boys loved their surprise and Evan now thinks that he should eat breakfast in bed every weekend! HA!

Hilton on The Landing

The boys love to go to the Landing and claim that when they grow up they are going to move to the Landing and share an apartment there. We thought it would be fun to surprise the boys and stay the night at the Hilton on The Landing during Christmas break.

Here are the boys in the hotel lobby while I was checking in. They were so excited about their surprise!
Here is the view from our balcony.

G-man soaking up the life!
The best mommy and daddy in the world. (the boys label when they found out about their surprise.)
Midnight snack.

Valentine's Craft

I saw a couple of super cute things on Pinterest with handprints and thought it would be a cute idea for a Valentine's decoration.

I had each of the boys trace and cut around their handprints and then I put them together on some scrapbook paper and put them in a frame. I think it would be fun to do this every year and then I can save each one in a scrapbook album and look back at them as they grow.
